The client’s production processes carried the hidden cost of years of inconsistency: different application teams built and deployed their software in different ways, the deployment pipelines had drifted apart over time, and infrastructure performance varied depending on which team owned a given release. Without a consistent way to build and deploy across the board, every release cycle added to that variability rather than reducing it. The client engaged Taller to standardize it.

The visible parts were the tools (Jenkins to orchestrate builds, SonarQube to automatically check code quality before a release went out), but the lasting work was in the less visible design: reusable pipeline templates, consistent conventions for versioning software artifacts, and clear rules for promoting a release from one stage to the next, so one team could improve its release cadence without disrupting another’s.
