Commerce Engineering Above the Kubernetes Platform

A global sportswear brand engaged Taller to embed a multi-skill engineering team across its consumer e-commerce, B2B wholesale, and in-store retail platforms operating in 65 countries.

Each platform carried its own mix of legacy and modern applications, its own integrations with SAP, Tibco, and third-party EDI (the standardized format businesses use to exchange orders and invoices electronically), and its own service expectations. Keeping all three running and evolving at that scale took broad, multi-skilled engineering capacity without slowing releases or destabilizing daily operations.

Taller ran a multi-skill engineering group for the client’s tech-delivery hub, working at the application and integration layer above the Kubernetes infrastructure. The unit covered database administration, full-stack development across the e-commerce and B2B platforms, DevOps on the deployment pipelines, backend development, EDI engineering for B2B retail partners on the ANSI X12 standard, SAP and Tibco integration for the retail point-of-sale platform, application support, Scrum Master coordination, and service management at mid and senior levels. The Kubernetes infrastructure itself, the client’s Kafka monitoring tools, and internal API design and platform engineering stayed with the client’s internal team. Taller’s work kept the application layer maintainable and releasable as that underlying infrastructure evolved.
