Legacy UI Modernization with Chiron

Using agentic workflows to accelerate modernization across a complex security product surface

A cloud security company engaged Taller to modernize a legacy frontend estate within its secure internet access product using Chiron’s hybrid human-agent delivery model.

The client wanted to modernize legacy user-interface pages into its newer frontend architecture, rebuilding each page on the correct new structure and aligning it with the component strategy. The pages also had to migrate toward reusable design tokens and components (shared, standardized building blocks for the UI), and be prepared for integration into the broader monorepo (a single repository that holds many of the company’s projects together). The scope covered Domain Profiles, the Recipient Profiles tab, and a connected Policies page. Each had to be updated while preserving how it behaved, improving consistency, increasing reuse, and meeting performance and quality requirements: load speed, Core Web Vitals (Google’s standard measures of web-page experience), bundle analysis, functional tests, internationalization (i18n) validation, and dependency validation.

The key challenge was speed. The client had previously spent about 14 days migrating a single page without AI. Using AI platforms such as Devin brought that down to around five days per page. Taller needed to show that Chiron could deliver team-scale compression across multiple pages through coordinated human-agent delivery.

Taller used Chiron to orchestrate the modernization as a hybrid human-agent workflow. Chiron’s Knowledge Database gave the agents the relevant technical context: page scope, frontend patterns, reference implementations, design-system component usage, coding guidelines, dependency expectations, and modernization requirements, grounding the engineering agents in the same project context the human team used.

The planner broke the work across the three-page scope, identifying the shared patterns between Domain Profiles, Recipient Profiles, and the connected Policies page so that the team did not treat each page as an isolated rewrite. Repetitive logic moved into reusable structures in the shared component layer, and UI elements migrated toward the design-system components and design tokens.

The engineering agents worked from the developer terminal through Chiron’s CLI, using familiar coding tools while staying connected to the Chiron web platform, the shared plan, the shared taskboard, and the institutional knowledge layer, allowing the human team to coordinate, review progress, and keep visibility across the effort. Chiron’s Pelion workflows supported quality: multiple agents could reason over the same implementation paths, compare outputs, and validate against project rules to reduce the risk of hallucinated or inconsistent code, while human engineers stayed responsible for review and architectural judgment.

Using Chiron, Taller migrated three legacy pages in two days, against the client’s previous baseline of 14 days per page without AI and five days per page with Devin. The work was structured around reusable components, shared patterns, quality artifacts, and readiness for integration into the modernized frontend architecture.
