Overview
A NASDAQ-listed staffing and professional-services firm engaged Taller to build a custom remote-hiring platform.
The Problem
The COVID-driven shift to remote work in 2020 broke the client’s in-office, whiteboard-based candidate-tracking process. The physical surface that had been the spine of the recruiting operation could not survive distributed work. The move was to build a fully custom digital platform from scratch, designed for the remote-collaboration model the firm had adopted.
The Solution
Taller deployed a ten-expert team that designed and built the platform across Python, Java, .NET, and JavaScript. Custom software at this speed was an exercise in scope discipline more than engineering velocity: the team had to decide quickly what the platform would not do, what stayed in spreadsheets, in email, in Workday, and ship the smallest credible product that could replace the whiteboard for the workflow recruiters actually lived in. The multi-language stack reflected the reality that the team had to integrate with several of the client’s existing systems rather than build the whole workflow independently.
The Impact
Taller delivered a seamless move to digital candidate-and-job management for the recruiting function, better collaboration across the firm’s now-distributed team, and a solution that scaled with the recruiting team’s growth through the pandemic.
